A Legacy Begins: Groundbreaking Ceremony of Umer Shaikh Memorial Campus in Karachi

Karachi, June 2025 — In a momentous occasion filled with pride and reflection, Baithak School Network has officially broken ground on the Umer Shaikh Memorial Campus in Mehran Town, Korangi, Karachi. This new campus stands as a powerful tribute to Umer Shaikh, the founding member of Baithak’s North America chapter and former President of the Baithak School Society of North America (BSSNA).

The three-story, purpose-built school will offer quality education up to the matriculation level and will include modern computer labs aimed at equipping underserved children with the digital skills needed for today’s world.

Leading the groundbreaking ceremony was Dr. Nadeem Gill, Chairman of BSSNA, alongside Ms. Ayesha Salman, President of Baithak School Network, and Ms. Asma Faiz, Vice President. Their presence marked a deep commitment to continuing the vision laid down by Umer Shaikh—a vision centered on educational access and opportunity for all.

“This school is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a space built with love, in memory of a man who dedicated his life to ensuring every child has the right to learn,” shared Ms. Ayesha Salman during her remarks.

The campus, once complete, will serve as a beacon of hope for the children of Mehran Town and surrounding areas, many of whom face systemic barriers to accessing education. With facilities designed to support both academic and technological advancement, the school is poised to become a cornerstone of change in the community.

The Baithak School Network continues to expand its reach into underserved areas of Pakistan, standing firm in its mission to provide education with dignity and hope to every child, regardless of their background.
